Over here at the Food Allergy and Celiac Convention planning headquarters, we’re hit with some Frequently Asked Questions on some trip planning details for folks heading down to the event.
For this Friday’s post in our Trip Planning Series, we thought we’d cover a handful of them to get you started on planning your own trip when you come down for the fun!
Will I need park tickets for entry to the convention/expo?
Nope! Absolutely not. The only tickets you need are entry to our event, but because it is being held at Coronado Springs Resort and not inside a park, you don’t need tickets to get in. Of course, if you want to enjoy the magic of Walt Disney World while you’re down, you may want to purchase tickets to get into the parks. However, they totally aren’t necessary.
How much does it cost to park at the event?
Nada! You won’t pay a cent. Folks who are staying on Disney property automatically get free parking, but if you’re not, don’t worry–conference attendees get a free pass, too!
I am staying for the weekend and want to visit the parks and Downtown Disney. Is there transportation available?
Yes! Disney transportation is free; there are buses that run directly from all of the hotels (whether you’re staying at Coronado Springs or another hotel) to all of the parks and to Downtown Disney. If you’re staying at another hotel and need to head to Coronado Springs, the buses don’t run directly from hotel to hotel. For this, it’s often easiest to head to Downtown Disney on a bus, then hitch a ride on the right hotel bus. However, talk to the concierge at the hotel–sometimes they will offer suggestions to head to a specific park first, depending on the proximity of your hotel to where you want to go.
Are group rates or travel discounts available for my trip?
Yes, we’ve partnered with Destinations in Florida, who is offering a special rate and a block of rooms at select hotels for the event. You can get more details here.
I’m flying in. What’s my best bet to getting to my hotel?
If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, they offer a free shuttle, called the Magical Express, to get you from the airport directly to the hotel you are staying at. They even take care of your luggage, making a world of difference in the ease of getting from A to B. If you’re staying in a nearby hotel, there are many cab services and we’ve both had good experiences with Supershuttle, as well.
I’ve never been to Walt Disney World. What can I expect?
The most magical trip of your life, of course!
