Just around the corner from Walt Disney World in Oviedo, Florida, “All From Scratch” was started by founder Kellie in 2012, stemming from her joy for baking creating yummy treats while incorporating naturally and locally grown foods. Using only all natural and organic ingredients and big supporters our local organic growers, they specialize in gluten-free and vegan desserts that are fresh, rich and just as decadent as other gluten based gourmet desserts.
We’re excited to have these Florida locals joining us at the event! Here’s a little more about them:
1. What’s the most memorable time you’ve experienced with an All from Scratch Bakery fan?
A few come to mind, please pick any: I had a customer, even before we opened our bakery space, that reached out to me to see if I could make her a Birthday Cake. She had so many allergies, I had to stop and think of how I could really do this for her. Well, I did, and she was so grateful, she actually cried. This was the first time she’d been able to have someone else make her a Birthday Cake. I was so happy that it had been me!! ~We had our Bakery Grand Opening with over 150 excited people there to support us. It was the most amazing experience!! ~I had a customer come in on a Wed with a wish for fun vegan Birthday Cake for her daughter. The catch was that she needed it by Saturday. She showed me a couple of pictures, and I immediately agreed. When she came in on Saturday, she was simply astounded that I could make such a wonderful cake on such short notice. But the best part is that she called after ~ she said it tasted even better than it looked!
2. If you could create a new bakery product inspired by a Disney Park or attraction, what would it be?
I’m in LOVE with Mickey Mouse. My new product would be, not one but two, Chocolate Mickey Cookies, with Vanilla Cream frosting sandwiched between. Of course these Cookies would be gluten-free and vegan. (I think I might really do this!)
3. We have a bit of a sweet tooth here at FACCWDW headquarters, which of your gluten free and special diets products would you recommend to us to satisfy our sweets urge?
We have a brownie ~ “The Best Gluten-Free Brownie Ever!” ~ that is SO yummy!!! We also make the most amazingly delicious and moist vegan Cupcakes out there! Flavors available: Chocolate Devotion, Very Vanilla, Sweetly Strawberry, Key Lime, Red Velvet, Luscious Lemon, Chai, Perfectly Pumpkin, Moist Banana and Orange Dreamsicle. All of which are also available in gluten-free!
4. Since you’re a shared headquarters, what steps do you take in order to ensure safety in your facility?
I’m careful to use different scoops, pans and mixers when making my gluten free goodies. All cookies are baked on parchment paper, and all cupcakes have liners. Everything is cleaned in a triple sink system, or washed in a high-temp dishwasher. I try to bake gluten free first thing in the morning (before baking with wheat flour) or on a completely separate day. All tables are washed and sanitized between creations.
5. What’s the most unique event that All from Scratch Bakery has catered to?
We are very fortunate to have become friends with some fantastic people who own a Spa in Altamonte Springs. Once a month they host an Art Night. It’s unique, as this event features a different local artist every month. The mediums range from photography, to carvings, to oil paint and much more! It’s such a wonderful sight to see ~ different views of so many things using so many textiles. We are truly delighted that we are their gluten-free bakery of choice every month!
