Baking Inspiration Featuring Bloomfield Farms

We are so excited that Bloomfield Farms joined us at this year’s Food Allergy & Celiac Convention. With eight baking mixes and two flour options, they add plenty of versatility to your kitchen, without you having to do too much work!

But as you know, the Food Allergy & Celiac Convention team likes to think outside of the box… both when it comes to planning an event (just WAIT until 2015!) and a baking mix. We’re already brainstorming on what we can do with their mixes to make them, well, anything but a simple mix.

The Contenders

Gluten-Free Brownie Mix
Ooh. The brownie. And so many options! We could keep it simple with some swirled in Enjoy Life Foods seed and fruit mix, or swirl in Sunbutter for a decadent addition. Maybe we’ll roll it super thin for some brownie brittle, or crumble it up on top of some chocolate bark!


Gluten-Free Cookie Mix
Cookies don’t have to mean cookie making, but how can you pass up the handheld treat? Luckily the cookie mix allows for a load of options, from a chock-full cowboy cookie, to simple sugar cookies, to the classic studded with chocolate chips. What’s your top pick?


Gluten-Free Cake Mix
The classic yellow cake with chocolate icing is one we could make again and again, but we definitely don’t shy away from making something extraordinary. And if all else fails? Cake pops are on the menu!



Gluten-Free Pizza Dough Mix
Mmm. Pizza. So many options and oh, so delicious. One of us are thinking a classic marinara with non-dairy cheese, crispy bacon, caramelized shallots, and roasted butternut. The other is going for an arugula pesto with thinly sliced potatoes and red onions. Or maybe we’ll make it a thai twist with a red curry sauce. Or classic pepperoni. Or roasted red peppers and grilled zucchini. Or… or…

Gluten-Free Cornbread and Muffin Mix and Gluten-Free Loaf Bread Mix
Just in time for the holidays! If you don’t want to make your own bread but definitely want to do stuffing/dressing, the cornbread mix and the loaf bread mix allows for simple prep when you make your way up to the main event! For leftovers, use fresh cranberries and drizzle with maple syrup for a breakfast bread that’s the perfect candidate for a thick smear of apple butter.

Gluten-Free Muffin Mix
It’s like a blank canvas just waiting for you to make your own. For the adults… use that leftover rum from the holidays, soak some raisins, then stir them into the batter. Add nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom to the dough. To make it alcohol-free, do the same with apple cider. Even better, if you have cranberry sauce on hand, swirl it into the dough before baking.

Gluten-Free Pancake and Waffle Mix
